On January 12th, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti just outside the capital city of Port-au-Prince. This left a looming crisis with lives lost, property destroyed, families displaced and the most helpless of victims – Haiti’s orphans.

Before the earthquake, according to the United Nationals Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (http://www.unicef.org/) there were more than 380,000 orphans in Haiti. Since the earthquake no one has been able to estimate what the real number of orphaned and displaced children are. At MyAssist we decided that we wanted to help.

If you came to this site because you need help; from finding a charity to support to locating a lost relative we've set up a special 800 number for you to call. Please call us at 1(888) 538-5457 or 1 (414) 224-7652.

Ways to Help
USAID, which is leading the U.S. response to the Haiti disaster, is asking that all those offering assistance other than donations (volunteers, goods, services) to submit their offers to the Center for International Disaster Information at http://dex.cidi.org/.

Most agencies responding to the Haiti orphan crisis can help the most with cash donations:
